Senator Ben Bruce on Tuesday, also reacted to the invasion of the National Assembly by security agencies who prevented the lawmakers from accessing the complex.
Senator Ben Bruce who condemned the massive reinforcement at the entry, exit and within the premises, described what was happening as “a coup”. The Nigerian Senator representing Bayelsa West at the red chamber, vowed that he and his colleagues (pro-Saraki Senators) would report President Muhamadu Buhari, Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police among others to the international community.
He told newsmen;
“You can all see what is happening. Please get me names and photographs of any of the security agents you see. Let no one test me or this institution”, he said.
“And for all those behind this, the anti-democratic forces, we will report all of them to embassies in Nigeria. I am in touch with them already and they are waiting.
“They, their wives and kids will not be allowed to enter Europe and North America. Tomorrow we will write to London, Washington, the EU, Canada.”
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, had accused the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, Director General of the Department of State Services (DG – DSS), Lawal Daura and 30 APC Senators – led by the Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, of spearheading a fresh plot to illegally impeach Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday morning, Frank said that the meeting was at the instance of Oshiomhole, who is allegedly currently pressurizing President Muhammadu Buhari to accept his proposal of using “crude tactics” to topple Saraki and his Deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
Frank further added that the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the APC, Chief Adeniyi Adebayo, joined Oshiomhole in pushing for the illegality while some APC Senators and House of Representatives members at the meeting kicked against the plot saying any “forceful removal of Saraki without due process will not fly with Nigerians.”
