Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has insisted that his 4-3-3 formation will not be changed despite pressures to do so. Playing in that formation has seen the London side suffer series of defeats in recent times, which have put Sarri’s job under threat.
Speaking at a media conference ahead of his side’s Europa League game against Malmo, Sarri made it clear that his formation still stands.
“The system is a false problem. I know very well that, when we lose, [they say] I have to put a striker on the pitch.
“When we win, I have to put a defender on the pitch. But I want to see the football in another way,” Sarri said.
He however stated that he could try out different players in his system due to recent individual errors in games.
“Maybe, but at the moment we are making mistakes with a lot of players. Everybody sooner or later was involved in a mistake. So I think we need more to change the mentality than the players.”
