Here are photos from Baba Sala’s funeral in Ibadan, the veteran actor passed away on the 8th of October, 2018.
It has been reported that the a funeral ceremony has been held for the late Moses Olaiya Adejumo, the Nigerian actor popularly known as Baba Sala, who died recently.
The body of Baba Sala who was fondly referred to as the ‘king of comedy’ was brought to Oyo State for a lying-in-state ceremony today at the Cultural Center in Ibadan.
The event was attended by his colleagues, family and friends including Pa Lere Paimo, Dele Odule, Peju Ogunmola, Tubosun Odunsi, Aderupoko and others while the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun.

Brief Biography of Baba Sala
Moses Olaiya better known by his stage name “Baba Sala”, was a Nigerian comedian, dramatist and actor, he was born on 18 May 1936.
A Yoruba from Ijesha, Baba Sala, regarded as the father of modern Nigerian comedy, alongside other dramatists like Hubert Ogunde, Kola Ogunmola, Oyin Adejobi and Duro Ladipo popularized theater and television acting in Nigeria. He was a prolific filmmaker. Significantly, Baba Sala started his career in show business as a Highlife musician, fronting in 1964 a group known as the Federal Rhythm Dandies where he tutored and guided the jùjú music maestro King Sunny Adé who was his lead guitar player.
