NSCDC intercepts 45,000 litres of illegally refined fuel in Edo State
45,000 litres of illegally refined fuel, has been intercepted by the operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo Command.
The truck laden with suspected illegally refined fuel was loaded in Delta and heading to Abuja, was intercepted at Aduwawa area on Benin/Auchi road. According to Makinde Ayinla, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, the driver of the truck had been arrested and would soon be prosecuted.
NAN reported that the NSCDC boss also reiterated his command’s commitment in discharging its duties, and ensuring that the nation’s economic saboteurs desist from their unpatriotic trade. Ayinla who stated that the interception was necessary, added that any marketer that patronised illegal refinery would eventually suffer a loss as such products, if intercepted, would be destroyed. He also advised petroleum marketers to shun acts inimical to the economic emancipation of the country and ensure that they got their products from the legal refineries.
