Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer, appeared in front of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform Tuesday morning.
Cohen is testifying about Trump’s business practices, his hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels and his assertion that Trump knew ahead of time that WikiLeaks had emails damaging to Hillary Clinton.
Massie also asked Cohen:
Massie: were you a good lawyer for Trump.
Cohen: I believe so.
Massie: I didn’t ask if you were a good fixer, I asked if you were a good lawyer.
Cohen: Sometimes they meld. I was trying to protect Trump.
Massie: By ignoring any conscience you were protecting Mr. Trump.
