We reported yesterday that Nigerian soldiers opened fire on members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria popularly known as Shiites, who embarked on a symbolic annual Arbaeen annual trek at Zuba, Abuja.

The Shiites members who were having a religious protest which began from the Suleja area of Niger State, clashed with the soldiers around Zuba Highway, and were only throwing stones at the soldiers. However they got shot at by the soldiers, and it was gathered that over six Shiite members were killed and many others injured in the clash between the sect and military men.
