A protest against the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by Ex-Niger Delta militants, is currently ongoing in Bayelsa State.
Activities in the area has been shut down by the protesting Ex-Niger Delta militants, who are demanding for relief materials for communities that have been ravaged by flood in the region.The protest leaders have been identified as Gen. Cairo and Gen. Ebi John, and it was further gathered that movement has been halted and the entrance leading to NDDC main secretariat has also been shut down.

This is coming few days after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, visited the Igbogene and St. John’s Parish’s Internally Displaced Persons’ camps in Bayelsa State. Osinbajo met with the affected victims of flooding in the state.
He was accompanied by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson and his deputy Rear Admiral Gboribiogha Jonah and the DG, NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja
