The Matron in the school who lied to the girl that her mom was sick and she needed to go home, was busted after an investigation was launched following Police invitation. It was gathered that on getting to the school’s gate, a man was told to take her home with his motorcycle, but the man, instead, took her to the village head of Tukur-Tukur, Zaria.

Thereafter the village head, the district head and other Islamic leaders detained her, forcefully converted her to Islam, changed her name from Parmata to Fatima, kept her with them and were homeschooling her on the tenets and rudiments of Islam for new converts.

The Matron suggested that the principal of the school should be aware of the whereabouts of the missing girl. The School Principal also denied knowing where of the student entrusted into their care.

However on the 15th of August, 2018, at about 9:30pm the police eventually uncovered the girl‘s whereabouts. It was discovered that Parmata was kept in the custody of the village head’s wife, who barely fed her one meal per day.
