The body of Bishop Raph G.U Innocent and others, who were passengers of the 18-seater bus that plunged into a river along (Akala Olu) Okogbe-Mbiama Axis, East-West Road Of Ahoada West LGA, Rivers State on Tuesday have been recovered.
Corpses of passengers recovered so far includes that of; Bishop Raph G.U Innocent from Erema town in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, Uchechukwu Nnenoka, from Isu local government area of Imo state and Chizaru Oti from Alibrada town in Rivers state.
The deceased were identified by their relatives, after the ongoing search party for victims of the passenger bus that veered off a flooded bridge and plunged into a river in Rivers state, made progress.
An eyewitness disclosed that the local divers in the, area had been working round the clock to ensure that no corpse was left behind.
“They (local divers) have been working round the clock since Tuesday when the incident happened and just yesterday (Wednesday), they were able to recover two bodies.
“Remember that eight persons were rescued the same day the incident happened. The eight lucky passengers were immediately rushed to the hospital.
“The thinking is that four more bodies may be in the water or floating somewhere on the water. We also know that the bus that plunged into the river has since been recovered” he said.
