Bauchi Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, has won the APC governorship primary election.
MA Abubakar was declared the winner of the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress which took place on Monday across the state.
Announcing the results at the APC Secretariat on Tuesday in Bauchi, the Returning Officer of the Primary election, Prof. Ahmed Bakori Mohammed, said the incumbent governor got a total of 75,086 votes to beat three other aspirants.
Barr. Muhammed Abubakar beat his closest rival, Dr. Yakubu Lame who polled 3,988 votes.
Other aspirants, Dr. Ali Pate, Capt. Bala Jibrin (Rtd) polled 2,886 and 2,539 respectively.
Total votes cast stood at 87,312 while invalid votes and unused ballot papers were 1,004 and 1,686 respectively.
According to the returning officer, “Barrister Muhammed Abubakar has fulfilled all requirements of the law and is hereby returned elected”.
