An ABSU graduate identified as Joel, met his untimely death after he fell off a bike in an accident which occurred around Okigwe expressway.
The ABSU Graduate who was on his way to Umuahia, Abia state capital, was crushed to death after he fell off the bike. Eyewitnesses alleged that Joel who died on the spot, was avoiding a moving trailer before he fell down on the road and was crushed to death by it.
His corpse has been deposited at the mortuary, as friends and loved ones took to social media to pen down tributes to him.
There was also a report of a Uniport final year student, Blessing Igoni who died in a fatal bike accident few months ago. The lady, Blessing Igoni, who was a final year student studying Biochemistry, in University of Port-Harcourt lost her life in a Power bike accident that claimed three other lives.
According to reports, she rode on the bike without a helmet, however, her friend who did also died. The accident occurred at the front of pleasure park, in Port-Harcourt. The pair were said to be on a power bike before the accident occurred near Bori Camp (Aba road) in Rumukpakolosi, Port Harcourt, the state capital.
They died instantly according to reports as another person who was trying to cross the road was also hit and killed by the speeding motorcycle and his leg crushed in the process. It was gathered that the rider, on reaching front of Pleasure Park, swerved to avoid hitting a man that was crossing, but lost control in the process. Eyewitnesses said Blessing, who was clad in blue jeans and black shirt, and her friend died on the spot. The pedestrian, who was crushed while trying to cross, also died moments later after the terrible accident.
